This week, I've probably gotten more than 20 emails containing some variation on "Hope you're surviving this heat!" And believe it or not, perfumes help. Specifically, mint ones. Not only does mint both taste and smell great, its scent "triggers cold receptors in your brain," according to Alan Hirsch, a neurologist, and psychiatrist at the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago. Here are three of the coolest mint blends created by our guests to try.
Cool as a Cucumber: This one is super smooth, fruity, and refreshing. And you get everything in it all at once: Mint Leaf, Yuzu, and Monkey Fart. This works great as room mist or a candle.
Musk Stay Cool: This is reminiscent of a York Peppermint Patty on a warm night: Fresh Mint, Dark Chocolate, and Amber Musk. The musk in this keeps it from being too much of a sweet treat and makes it perfect for a sugar scrub.
Zesty: This scent has a classic cologne construction, clean and fresh. It's definitely more citrusy than minty, but subtle as it is, that mint brings a zesty, refreshing vibe: Key Lime, Orange Zest, & Mint. Good in just about everything when you need a cool pick-me-up!
